Although not always specified in the owner's manual, changing the manual transmission oil in your Audi A6 C6 can significantly improve shifting performance and prolong the life of your gearbox.

🧰 Tools & Materials:

  • Gearbox Oil (approx. 2.6L, spec VW G 052 911)
  • 10mm Hex Bit Socket
  • Torque Wrench
  • Fluid Syringe or Pump
  • Drain Pan
  • Gloves and Safety Glasses

🔧 Procedure:

  1. IMPORTANT: First, loosen and ensure you can remove the FILL plug before draining. If you drain the oil and cannot open the fill plug, you will not be able to refill the gearbox.
  2. With a drain pan in position, remove the DRAIN plug and allow the old oil to drain completely.
  3. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 32 Nm.
  4. Using a fluid pump or syringe, fill the gearbox with new oil through the fill hole until it begins to overflow slightly.
  5. Clean and reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 32 Nm.
  6. Check for leaks and perform a test drive.
