Audi A6 C6 Sedan Third Brake Light Replacement DIY
The third brake light not working is a common issue in both the Avant and Limousine versions of the Audi A6 C6.
If you're handy, you can try to resolder the failing connections. I attempted to figure out what is failing but without success, so I opted to purchase a used light for replacement.
Procedure:
- Four metal clips secure the third brake light cover.
- Grasp one side with your hands and pull firmly.
- Detach the small two-wire connector.
- The light features two sliding parts on the sides - to remove the light, you must pull these to the sides.
- Reassemble in the reverse order. Install the new light using the two sliding parts and then connect the connector.
- Verify the light functions before reattaching the cover.
- Position the cover ensuring the four metal clips align with the holes, then press firmly with your hands.
That’s everything, drive safely!
