Learn how to replace worn engine mounts on the Audi A6 C6 with the EA113 engine in this step-by-step DIY guide. Faulty engine mounts can cause strong vibrations throughout the car, especially noticeable when idling. Replacing them restores smooth engine operation and driving comfort.

đź›  Common Symptoms of Engine Mount Failure:

  • Excessive engine vibration, especially at idle
  • Clunking or knocking sounds when accelerating or braking
  • Engine movement when shifting gears
  • Increased cabin noise or harshness

🔧 Installation Tips:

The passenger-side upper mount bolt is the most difficult to access. Removing the air filter housing helps—this is a good opportunity to clean your MAF sensor as well. Use a 16mm flexible ring spanner for tight spaces.

đź’ˇImportant:

Don’t fully remove the long subframe bolt unless necessary—overdoing it can cause misalignment requiring a jack and readjustment.

đź’ˇ Pro Tip:

While replacing the mounts, inspect other engine mounting components to catch wear early and avoid future repairs.
