DIY Rear Door Sound Deadening for Audi A6 C6

🔧 What You’ll Need:

• Sound deadening mats or foam (Butyl-based recommended)
• Roller tool
• Cleaning cloths & alcohol or degreaser
• Scissors or utility knife
• Gloves (optional)

💡Important:

Do not close / cover / clog water drains as it can cause corrosion.

🪛 Steps Overview:

1. Remove the Rear Door Panel
2. Follow our door panel removal guide to get access to the interior.
3. Clean the Surface
4. Wipe down all surfaces inside the door with alcohol or a degreaser for proper adhesion.
5. Apply Sound Deadening Material
6. Cut to fit and firmly press onto metal surfaces.
7. Focus on large flat areas and around the speaker mount.
8. Use a roller to remove air bubbles and ensure strong contact.
9. Add Acoustic Foam
10. For even better results, layer foam over the deadening mat or apply it to plastic trim parts.
11. Reassemble the Door Panel
12. Make sure all clips and cables are reconnected properly before pressing the panel back into place.
