Audi A6 C6 Front & Side Camera Installation Guide
This guide explains how to add front and side cameras to an Audi A6 C6 equipped with an aftermarket Android head unit, using a 4-in-1 video signal splitter.
🔌 Splitter & Relay Wiring:
The video splitter is the core of this system, managing the inputs from all cameras.
- Video Output: Connect the splitter's main video out to the Android head unit's camera input (RCA).
- Reverse Trigger: The splitter's 'REVERSE' trigger wire connects to the head unit's reverse signal wire.
- Power: The splitter can be powered by a 12V ACC source from the fuse box.
💡 Front Camera Relay (Triggered by Brake Lights):
- Pin 30: +12V from fuse box
- Pin 86: Ground
- Pin 85: Brake light signal
- Pin 87: +12V output to front camera
⚙️ Important Configuration Notes:
- Mirrored Views: A standard reverse camera will show a mirrored image. If your splitter mirrors all inputs, you may need front/side cameras that can have their mirroring disabled (often by cutting a small wire loop).
- Parking Lines: The Android head unit will likely overlay parking lines on all camera feeds. It's best to disable this feature in the head unit's settings and use cameras with built-in (or no) lines.
